In 1989, Harald Bilz and Peter Gutbrod founded the Heidelberger Spieleverlag to publish their own game ideas. The young publisher was able to celebrate its first major success with Neolithibum 1992 (Top 10 of the German Games Prize). As a development studio, they want to focus on games that bridge the gap between family games and geek games. For them, these are games with intuitive rules that offer long-term fun, are a bit weird and have that special something.
