Dantoy has been developing and producing high-quality toys in Denmark for over 60 years and is one of the largest manufacturers of plastic toys in Scandinavia. It is also a proud family business that has been passed down through several generations.
They specialize in the production of high-quality toys for role play, outdoor games, sand and water toys, snow equipment, toys for facilities and much more.
In 2010, their products were awarded the official Nordic Ecolabel: the Svanen label. They can proudly say that 98% of their products carry the Svanen label.
The company is located in Hobro, about 60 km north of Aarhus in Denmark. The factory area is 16,000 m2.
Who is Dantoy?
It is an exciting and diverse workplace with a large group of employees. They have around 50 employees in the company itself, but they also have colleagues who assemble their products from home or in sheltered workshops. They experience great mutual pleasure in their diverse collaboration.
They have 60 years of experience in designing and producing quality products, and Dantoy is the preferred toy supplier for many institutions in the 50 countries where they are represented.
More about the Svanen label
The world’s first toy to be awarded the Svanen label comes from Dantoy. They received the license for the Svanen label in 2010.
Svanen-labeled plastic toys must meet the strictest plastic content requirements in the world. For example, Svanen-labeled products must not contain any harmful substances such as phthalates, perfume, BPA or hormone-disrupting substances.
The Svanen label specifies requirements for safety, quality and durability. All Dantoy toys are designed to withstand the rigors of indoor play, which requires extra strength and quality in the product. This can be seen in the extra thickness of their toys compared to many cheap products made of thin material.
The Svanen label takes into account the entire life cycle of a product. This means that the environmental impact is assessed from the creation of the product as a raw material through to disposal and often recycling.
By meeting these requirements, they ensure a circular economy and contribute to Dantoy achieving several of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Vision
To be the world’s leading sustainable toy manufacturer in terms of materials and the categories in which they operate. They want to extend the Dantoy brand to the entire universe of the child.
Mission
Promoting the development of children in their world. Bringing joy and long-lasting education and imaginative play experiences to children and their families through “Dantoy play”. Experience playing in a natural way.
Quality and ISO certificates
High play value, safety for children and durable products are just some of the key features that reflect the quality of Dantoys products. Good, safe materials are also a priority when it comes to safety and quality.
The international ISO 9001 certificate for quality, which Dantoy has held since 1992, supports these statements. They carry out regular assessments to maintain the same high standard of quality year after year. Dantoy products are regularly tested and comply with the European Toy Safety Regulation EN71.
Dantoys quality and environmental system ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 applies to the addresses Sjællandsvej and Tåsingevej in Hobro and covers everything from development, order processing, purchasing, planning and production, assembly and final inspection to order fulfillment.
Environment
Dantoy will keep any environmental impact to a minimum. They have introduced environmentally friendly processes to control the consumption of energy, water and raw materials and to prevent potential emissions during the manufacturing process. Their toys are made from raw materials without harmful substances. The use of bioplastics in the manufacture of toys helps to minimize CO2 emissions compared to plastics made from fossil materials. Dantoys toys made of organic plastic are also labeled with the Svanen label.
With the Svanen label on their products, this means that Dantoy must meet certain requirements in all processes throughout the entire life cycle. This fits in well with Dantoy’s international ISO 14001 certificate for the environment.
Ethical ideology
Dantoy does not use child labor, neither directly nor indirectly. Furthermore, they do not want to work with people who use child labor. Dantoy recognizes the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
