The 60 GHz band attenuates quickly due to atmospheric absorption. When a 60 GHz radio – such as the UBB – uses a highly directional antenna, inteference from other directions is also attenuated. The 60 GHz band thus offers extremely high transmission capacity as a wireless wire.
60 GHz is highly directional and any obstacle in the line of sight – even rain – can drop signal levels. To maintain connectivity, the UBB can fail over to the 5 GHz radio. The 5 GHz radio band propagates better and uses radio wave reflections and refractions more effectively, although it offers a lower maximum throughput.
Setup is quick and easy: The UBB radios are pre-paired at the factory so that you can use the UniFi app for simultaneous commissioning. UniFi software enables individual UniFi devices to be managed intuitively and deployed across locations.

The UniFi Building-to-Building Bridge, model UBB, is the ideal solution for high-throughput connectivity and a range of up to 500 m. Integration with the UniFi application enables seamless bridging of two networks.
The UBB consists of two pre-paired end devices and offers a point-to-point connection (PtP) with up to 1 Gbit / s and 802.11ad technology in the low-interference 60 GHz radio band. A 5 GHz radio module with 802.11ac technology is available as a backup.
