When it comes to sustainability, ASS Altenburger is uncompromising, committed, innovative and consistent.
They know their responsibility, have high expectations of themselves and have therefore formulated a clear concept regarding sustainability. Not two or three flimsy tricks, but many concrete measures for their daily work. Really many. That’s what they want to be measured against.
They equip our products with disposal instructions to support proper disposal.
When designing packaging, they have applied notes for you to help you dispose of materials properly. The symbols show you which materials belong in the paper, plastic, or household waste.
They have established an environmental team to ensure sustainable environmental management.
Their environmental team was formed to make them aware as a company where they can do differently and better with our environment. Over the course of the year, set goals are implemented and new ones are established – this is how they want to constantly improve as a company.
They prefer to work with local and European suppliers.
Their suppliers are carefully selected by the purchasing team to meet sustainability requirements. As a result of the shorter transport routes and production that is as environmentally friendly as possible, less CO2 is emitted.
They are proud of the first completely paperless departments in the company.
Departments such as purchasing, for example, work exclusively digitally. Required documents are created, edited and signed digitally – so less needs to be printed. Making the process more sustainable in general.
They sort their trash and have it disposed of properly. Recyclable components are sent for recycling.
In the company they use different containers to ensure proper disposal of waste. Even during the production process, care is taken to separate any waste that arises.
They train key account managers to schedule customer appointments in tours as efficiently and environmentally friendly as possible.
They strengthen the awareness of their employees in the field for the environment. Customer appointments should therefore be planned in such a way that customers in the vicinity are approached at the same time or a circular route is created instead of driving across Germany.
